Frittelle is a dessert that everyone loves. Very easy to make, golden brown and crispy, they are delicious when eaten hot. The sugar granules make these fried dumplings even more delicious.

Ingredients

– 280 g flour
– 4 eggs
– 2 tablespoons sugar
– 50 gr milk
– 50 gr sunflower oil
– 1 lemon peel
– 2 tablespoons rum
– 1 sachet of baking powder
– 1 sachet vanilla powder
– 80 g sultanas
– 1 l sunflower oil for frying
– powdered sugar for sprinkling

To prepare “le frittelle”, start by soaking the sultanas in hot water (they can also be soaked in rum).
Meanwhile, beat the eggs with the lemon zest, sugar and vanilla.

Add the milk at room temperature to the mixture.

Then add the sifted flour mixed with the baking powder.

Finally, add the well-squeezed sultanas and rum and mix well.

Heat the sunflower oil in a tall saucepan. Drop teaspoons of the mixture into the hot oil, a few at a time. Pick up the fritters with a skimmer until they are a uniform golden color.

Do not use too high a flame to avoid the risk of the inside being raw. Drain on absorbent kitchen paper.

While hot, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve. They keep for 2 days if stored in an airtight container.
